SOUTHBOROUGH — The Community Preservation Committee held its annual public forum explaining the CPA's history and funding mechanisms, which have generated $9.1 million in combined town and state funds since 2003, while Vice-Chair Kristin LaVault continued review of FY27 funding applications. Committee member Ellen Marya presented a comprehensive overview of how revenues are divided among designated reserves and completed projects. The Committee reviewed ongoing applications: the Harold E.
Fay Memorial Playground Improvements project, which remains under development with parking concerns; the Rural Cemetery Water Tower Restoration project, likely to be withdrawn; and the Golf Course Irrigation project, which Patricia Lally and Kathleen Coburn of the Golf Course Committee confirmed remains a priority despite budget and timeline adjustments addressing CPC concerns.
