Library Board approves concrete repair, appoints trustees to clarify DPW maintenance duties.
Library Board of Trustees · Meeting of May 11, 2026
SOUTHBOROUGH — Library Board approves sub-five-thousand-dollar concrete repair and charges DPW ambiguity to committee. Chair Marguerite Landry and the Board voted unanimously to authorize repairs to cracked cement near the book drop, contingent on cost remaining below $5,000, after the Department of Public Works declined the work. In a second unanimous vote, the Board appointed Vice Chair Jane Davis and Trustee Janet Maney to work with Library Director Ryan Donovan to draft a formal letter clarifying DPW's responsibility for library grounds, landscaping, and parking lot maintenance.
The Board also approved the annual evaluation of Donovan, highlighting his management of the library's website redesign and staff mentoring, and established five performance goals for the coming year, including space and storage research and national conference attendance.
