SOUTHBOROUGH — Open Space Preservation Commission authorizes light meter purchase for Dark Skies project. Chair Freddie Gillespie and commissioners Leslie Naditch and Joan Levenson unanimously approved spending up to $200 for a light meter to support a Dark Skies nature walk planned with girl scouts and iNaturalist at the Beecology Garden at Breakneck Hill during Earth Day programming. The commission also approved prior meeting minutes and clarified that several agenda items duplicated from a scheduling error were referred back to the March 20 meeting record rather than revisited.
Gillespie is coordinating outreach for a Spotted Lanternfly workshop with the Massachusetts Department of Agricultural Resources and pursuing a Svorce Valley Trust land protection workshop.
