Planning Board approves scenic road tree removals on four roads, conditions Richards Road mitigation.

Southborough Planning Board unanimously approves sidewalk-related tree and stonewall removals. The board voted to allow tree removals on Parkerville, Richards, Woodland, and Oak Hill roads, with DPW Superintendent William Cundiff advancing ARPA-funded designs prepared by consultant Greg Russell and VHB. For Richards Road, where five tree removals drew objections, the board required the DPW to plant two to three replacement trees at 23 Richards Road to mitigate impacts on residents Katie and Brenden Barry.
Objected-to removals must receive Select Board approval. On Oak Hill Road, board member Debbie DeMuria voted against removal of three trees, but the motion passed 4-1. The board also continued a February hearing on a proposed educational facility at 352 Turnpike Road, pending Town Counsel review of the applicant's Dover Amendment claim.
