Planning Board backs five zoning articles for Town Meeting vote

SOUTHBOROUGH — Planning Board unanimously endorses five zoning articles for Town Meeting. Chair Meme Luttrell and members Marnie Hoolahan, Debbie DeMuria, and Alan Belniak approved motions backing amendments to the accessory dwelling unit bylaw, the industrial park data center regulations, the MCOD dimensional table, the Southborough Affordable Housing Trust replacement, and tricentennial signage zoning. Town Planner Karina Quinn reported the board's findings.
Board members focused extensively on the data center article, noting resident Sam Stivers plans a floor amendment to reduce setbacks from 1,000 feet to 50 feet and increase maximum building size to 100,000 square feet, raising concerns about noise and electrical infrastructure demands.
