Planning Board continues data center hearing, flags concerns on Turnpike Road project.

Planning Board · Meeting of March 30, 2026

SOUTHBOROUGH — The Southborough Planning Board continued its public hearing on data center regulations under Special Permit Section 174-9 to April 11, 2026. Chair Meme Luttrell explained the data center use is moving from the Industrial Park District to the Special Permit section because the Planning Board, as opposed to the Zoning Board of Appeals, is better positioned to handle the site-intensive review. The Board also discussed a letter to the ZBA regarding the 250 Turnpike Road project, noting that previous Planning Board concerns about tree impact, site compliance, sign permits, and Site Plan discrepancies remain unaddressed by the applicant.
