SOUTHBOROUGH — Planning Board endorses amended letter supporting regional Route 9 gateway study. The board unanimously backed a revised letter of support for a joint Southborough-Westborough planning grant application under the Executive Office of Housing and Livable Communities One Stop for Growth program, with an estimated total cost of $150,000 to be split evenly between the towns. The initiative will assess development strategy, zoning reform, and infrastructure needs along the Route 9 corridor; Debbie DeMuria's edits stressed Southborough Master Plan goals, reducing emphasis on housing to favor tax-generating commercial uses.
Alan Belniak clarified that Southborough's financial commitment would be decided later if the grant is awarded.
