Planning Board extends Temporary Occupancy Permit for Central Street project

Planning Board · Meeting of April 27, 2026

SOUTHBOROUGH — Planning Board extends Central Street Historical Society permit, requires as-built plans. Chair Meme Luttrell, Lisa Braccio, and Debbie DeMuria unanimously extended the Temporary Occupancy Permit for 40-42 Central Street through May 11, with the Southborough Historical Society required to submit completed as-built documentation and address parking, signage, and lighting concerns. The Board also approved the April 2026 scenic road tree removal list involving four removals and one trimming, and accepted six three-inch caliper trees as replacement for a 24-inch ash tree removed at 154 Turnpike Road.

The Board discussed draft native plant and invasive species management policies from the Open Space Preservation Commission requiring native plantings, prohibiting neonicotinoids and landscape fabric, and establishing long-term invasive monitoring protocols for site plan approvals.
