Select Board adopts five financial policies, supports Article 13 on roadway improvements.

Select Board · Meeting of April 7, 2026

Southborough Select Board unanimously backs five financial governance policies and reverses course on a road improvements warrant article. The board voted to support Article 13 on the Pavement Management Implementation Plan after an earlier 3-2 split, with Chair Andrew R. Dennington, II stating the prior tally did not reflect the board's true position.

Auditor Anthony Roselli reported the town maintained its AAA bond rating for a fifth consecutive year but flagged a $54.4 million increase in post-employment benefits liability and recommended establishing a pension stabilization fund to address Worcester County Pension System funding concerns. The board unanimously approved debt exclusion ballot questions for May 12 covering school roof replacements and roadway improvements.
