SOUTHBOROUGH — Select Board unanimously appoints Lindberg as probationary police officer. Chair Kathryn M. Cook moved the appointment of Joseph Lindberg as a full-time probationary officer effective May 29, 2026, following Police Chief Ryan Newell's presentation of Mr.
Lindberg's credentials, which include POST certification, a bachelor's degree in Conservation Law Enforcement from Unity College, three years as a Holden Police Department officer, and specialized training as a Taser instructor and crash reconstruction expert. The board voted 5-0, and Deputy Town Clerk Amber Smith administered the Oath of Office. Mr.
Lindberg will begin with a abbreviated training period focused on departmental procedures and local operations.
