Southborough Select Board approves three Cemetery Expansion Committee appointments and green-lights $24,900 for expanded landfill monitoring. The Board voted unanimously to appoint Robert Bezokas, Kyle Decubellis, and Michael E. Sheff to the committee for terms expiring June 30, 2027.
In a separate action, the Board approved a Reserve Fund transfer to pay Pare Corporation for additional groundwater and private well sampling at the Parkerville Road Landfill, required by the Massachusetts Department of Environmental Protection in response to elevated 1,4-dioxane concentrations; testing of private wells found no drinking-water-standard exceedances. The Board also awarded the Neary School Feasibility Study contract to Tappe Architects on the recommendation of the Elementary School Building Committee and authorized the Department of Public Works to use bottom-line spending to manage snow and ice budget overages totaling roughly $170,000.
