SOUTHBOROUGH — Select Board approved water infrastructure funding and police staffing. The Board unanimously voted to accept a $1 million interest-free loan from the Massachusetts Water Resource Authority for Fisher Road and Presidential Drive water main improvements, designed to create a more efficient system. The Board also unanimously appointed Ross Sudar, a former U.S.

Capitol Police officer with a bachelor's degree from Westfield State University, as a Probationary Police Officer, bringing the Southborough Police Department to full staffing. In concurrent budget discussions with the Financial Advisory Committee, the Board outlined preliminary FY28 scenarios amid a $700,000 levy capacity constraint, with Finance Director Brian Ballantine noting Budget B would require more than $2 million in reductions.
