Select Board · Meeting of May 19, 2026
Southborough Select Board authorizes borrowing for MetroWest emergency communications center. The Board voted 4-1 to approve debt authorization of up to $12,500,000, with Tim Fling opposed, to fund construction of the regional 911 center. Town Administrator Mark Purple explained that short-term borrowing instruments would be used with debt service funded through municipal assessments, and the State 911 Department confirmed it will seek reimbursement of eligible costs through state grants.
