Select Board approves YFS Business Administrator appointment; extends wastewater study

Southborough Select Board extends wastewater study, backs YFS hire. The Board voted 4-1 to appoint a Youth and Family Services Business Administrator, with Al Hamilton casting the sole dissent. Sam Stivers, Chair of the Wastewater Study Committee, presented a feasibility update showing that a proposed facility would service the Route 9 corridor at 300,000 to 500,000 gallons per day with a projected cost of 40 to 50 million dollars.
The Board extended the Committee's charge to June 30, 2027, and voted 4-0-1 to advance planning. KMS Actuaries presented options for managing the Town's 54.4 million dollar OPEB liability. The Board unanimously approved the Senior Tax Work-Off Policy, setting available positions at 40.
