Southborough Select Board voted to remain in a 35-community waste disposal contract consortium. The Board unanimously approved staying with the Walpole-led negotiation group for a successor agreement with WIN Waste Innovations, whose current contract expires December 31, 2027. Town Counsel Elizabeth Lydon had recommended independent negotiations, citing limited direct participation, no guaranteed better pricing, and uncertain total costs.

The Board chose the consortium for potential leverage through collective bargaining. The Board also approved a one-day alcohol license for the Southborough Rotary Club's September 27 Oktoberfest, a one-year golf management contract extension through December 31, 2027, and authorized repair of a sinkhole at 11 Constitution Drive.
