Southborough Warns of Permit Email Scam, Sets Fall Town Meeting Date

Southborough officials posted a fraud alert this week warning residents about a permit-related email scam, the most immediate piece of town news as officials also locked in dates for the next two Town Meetings.

TOWN HALL

The town's website posted an alert titled "Permit-Related Email Scam," urging residents to verify any permit-related correspondence directly with Town Hall before responding. The Town House, at 17 Common Street, is open Monday, Wednesday and Thursday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Tuesday until 7 p.m., and Friday until noon for residents who want to confirm a permit inquiry in person or by phone at 508-485-0710.

Officials also confirmed dates for the town's next two Town Meetings: the Fall Special Town Meeting is scheduled for Saturday, October 17, 2026, and the Annual Town Meeting will follow on Saturday, March 20, 2027. The town said additional details on both sessions would be shared as they become available.

Separately, the Conservation Commission announced changes to its summer meeting schedule, and the town posted the latest edition of its newsletter, Word on Common Street (Volume 45), to the municipal website.

COMING UP

The Planning Board is scheduled to meet Monday, August 17, according to the town's public meetings calendar.
