Southborough Warns Residents About Permit Email Scam

SOUTHBOROUGH — Southborough Town Hall issued a warning to residents this week about a scam email impersonating the town's permit office, urging anyone who receives a suspicious message to verify it directly with staff before clicking any links or replying with personal information.

The alert, posted to the town's website, cautions residents that fraudulent emails referencing town permits have been circulating and asks recipients not to click embedded links or provide payment or personal details without confirming the request with Town House directly. Officials did not specify how many residents had been targeted or what information the scam emails request.

Separately, Town Hall confirmed dates for the next two town meetings. The Fall Special Town Meeting is scheduled for Saturday, October 17, 2026, and the Annual Town Meeting will follow on Saturday, March 20, 2027. Officials said additional details, including warrant articles, will be released as they become available.
