Stewardship Committee addresses Town Forest projects, invasive species plan.

Southborough Stewardship Committee · Meeting of January 13, 2026

Southborough Stewardship Committee tackled two Eagle Scout projects and invasive species management. Chair Joyce Greenleaf and members Kevin Farrington, Kathryn McKee, Freddie Gillespie, and Brett Peters approved October minutes 4-0 and scheduled a February 2 site visit for a potential Town Forest boardwalk. A second Eagle Scout kiosk project on Breakneck Hill Conservation Land will proceed with Gillespie as liaison.

The committee is developing a five-year invasives treatment plan targeting Bradford pear, garlic mustard, spearmint, bittersweet, buckthorn, and burning bush across multiple properties, with a multi-year Farm Dump Restoration project to follow.
