Southborough Building Committee deferred Neary School funding request to 2027 town meeting. Chair Craig Williams and members Mark Davis and Andrew Pfaff (absent: Heather McLeod and Jason Malinowski) heard from Tappe Architects on preliminary work plans, identifying substantial code-compliance upgrades including roof replacement with 14-inch insulation, high-performance windows, accessibility improvements, and fire suppression. The existing building's mechanical and electrical systems are obsolete and nearing end of useful life.

Rather than present a final feasibility report at the October Special Town Meeting, Tappe proposed a progress presentation, with detailed design work continuing through early 2027 toward a March 20, 2027 Annual Town Meeting vote.
