Town House Closes July 3; Youth Services Department to Relocate This Summer

With the Fourth of July weekend nearly here, Southborough has a short but useful bulletin for residents: the Town House will be shut on Friday, July 3, giving town employees the day before Independence Day as an observed holiday. Anyone needing to conduct business at 17 Common Street should plan ahead and visit by Thursday or wait until Monday, July 7.

Holiday closure and a department relocation on the horizon

The Town House at 17 Common Street will be closed on Friday, July 3, 2026, in observance of Independence Day. Normal hours resume the following week. Residents needing permits, applications, or other in-person services should account for the long weekend in their planning.

Separately, the Department of Youth and Family Services (SYFS) announced it will relocate from its current home in the South Union building at 21 Highland Street to 25 Common Street, directly across from Pilgrim Congregational Church. The move is expected to happen in late summer 2026. The department says it will post a confirmation once the transition is complete, so residents seeking SYFS services should watch the town's News Flash feed before making the trip to either address later this summer.

Also noted on the town homepage: upcoming construction on Pine Hill Road was flagged as beginning June 29. Residents using that corridor should expect activity in the area through the coming days.
