Wastewater Study Committee approves prior minutes, continues funding strategy work

Southborough Wastewater Study Committee approved prior minutes and continued preliminary work on a potential Route 9 wastewater system. Chair Sam Stivers presented a draft District Improvement Financing area map and reported that a June 2026 MassWorks grant deadline is infeasible because the town cannot fund required design work until July 2026. MassWorks Senior Director Mark Horn confirmed the agency will not cover site evaluation or early engineering and noted the project remains in a pre-funding phase for typical MassWorks consideration.
Member Al Hamilton will contact Westborough's Economic Development Coordinator to explore regional coordination. The Committee voted unanimously to adjourn at 8:20 p.m.
