Youth Commission approves fund transfer for camp scholarships

Southborough Youth Commission unanimously transfers one thousand dollars to camperships. The five-member board approved moving funds from the Donation Account to the Campership Account, bringing the scholarship fund to eight thousand dollars to support summer camp access for residents. Director Sarah Cassell reported the department closed out the calendar year, submitted the FY2027 budget proposal, and mailed vacancy letters to approximately forty to fifty human services professionals; Emily Tylek, Encompass substance use prevention coordinator, presented 2026 initiatives targeting high school youth including Narcan training, prevention pilots, parent groups, and refusal skills instruction.
