SOUTHBOROUGH — The Southborough School Committee voted to amend the teachers' contract, aligning Southborough Teachers Association Unit A salaries with Algonquin Regional's schedule starting July 1, 2027. Chair Chelsea Malinowski led the roughly two-hour meeting, which also covered a Neary Elementary School roof project nearing 90 percent completion and expected to return almost $2 million of its $4.5 million budget. The Elementary School Building Committee is weighing Neary building options ranging from a $12 million systems upgrade to a $35 million to $36 million addition-and-renovation project, with a statement of interest to the Massachusetts School Building Authority possible this winter.
Henry Knox Road resident Mary Tinty told the committee "option number three is looking really promising" but comes with "the highest cost." The committee also approved an $85 donation to the extended day program, FY28 budget priorities, and a medication-administration policy, each by unanimous vote, and approved monthly financial reports 4-0.
