School Committee Unanimously Appoints Two Members to Neary Building Panel
SOUTHBOROUGH -- April 2, 2026, Southborough School Committee fills its two seats on the new Neary School elementary building committee. The committee voted 3-0 Thursday to appoint Craig Williams, a principal with prior school consolidation experience in Franklin, and Heather McLeod, a current educator, as its representatives to the five-member panel. The three remaining seats were filled at a joint Select Board and School Committee session Tuesday. Member Roger Bartlett, who moved the appointments, said the previous Neary building committee lacked active educators in voting roles and argued the omission "didn't serve us well in the end." Superintendent Anne Doody urged all applicants, including applicant Mark Davis, whom multiple members praised by name for his work on prior committees, to remain engaged in the project beyond the formal appointed body.
