Select Board · Meeting of September 2, 2026

Southborough's Select Board backs a 33-space Fayville Park parking plan but withholds a formal vote pending a history center deed dispute. Recreation Commission Chair Kristin LaVault and Director Travis Farley presented a $190,100 Activitas, Inc. design adding 19 angled spaces on Central Street, while Vice Chair Andrew Pfaff warned it could trigger an Article 97 review and called the park "a very constrained parcel." Resident Patricia Burns-Fiore, reached by phone after a Zoom outage, said the park is being "overbuilt" and pushed for parking near the ball field instead. The board voted 5-0 to remain in a 35-community consortium negotiating a successor WIN Waste disposal contract ahead of a December 2027 expiration, and authorized a roughly $5,000 sinkhole repair on Constitution Drive, a road the town never legally finished accepting.
