Wastewater Study Committee charts regional strategy, refines financing tool.

Southborough Wastewater Study Committee approves prior minutes, advances District Improvement Financing (DIF) plan. Chair Sam Stivers, with members Al Hamilton, Claire Reynolds, Brian Shea, Alan Belniak, and Joey Truman present, approved the February 18 meeting minutes and heard updates on Westborough coordination: a March 2 meeting with Westborough officials including Economic Development Coordinator Lara Crawford and Town Manager Kristi Williams concluded Westborough has no near-term wastewater expansion plans. Reynolds is drafting a request for an estimated 100,000 dollar regional One Stop Community Planning grant.
Stivers demonstrated an interactive parcel-mapping tool to refine DIF district boundaries along Route 9, and the Committee agreed to pursue four parallel workstreams including regional planning, DIF document refinement, site screening, and financing research. The next meeting is scheduled for April 23, 2026.
